On Thursday October 8th 2015 at approximately 8:40pm two male subjects wearing masks entered a retail jewellery store located in Woodgrove Centre, Nanaimo, B.C.  The subjects made threats to the store staff, then began smashing the glass of display cases to get at jewellery product.

The Nanaimo RCMP were contacted while the robbery was in progress.  With a description of the getaway vehicle, the RCMP located it on the Inland Island Highway where it was followed to Ladysmith.  Both subjects were apprehended, arrested and face multiple charges.

Jonathon Grant Javier, aged 28 and Justin James Dodd, aged 27 have been charged with robbery with a firearm, uttering threats, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.  The two subjects will remain in custody until their next court appearance in Nanaimo Provincial Court on November 3rd 2015.

Police indicated that the stolen property was recovered along with the stolen getaway vehicle.
