Jan 29, 2018
Bulletin 2018-2332A

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On January 13th 2018, two men entered a retail jewellery store in Station Mall, Sault Ste Marie Ontario. They asked to see numerous men's gold chains and bracelets. At the end of the presentation the men declared they wanted to purchase a number of chains and asked for them all be placed in one box. They then distracted staff with a large number of Canadian $100 bills and American money. They handed the box back to staff and said they were going to get another form of payment. They never returned and staff found one gold chain had been removed from the box.

On Monday 29th January 2018 the same men entered a jewellery store in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  This store is a JVC member and saw the previous alert from January 13th. They kept a close eye on these men and did not allow themselves to be distracted when large sums of money were produced. After the suspects left the staff contacted local police and JVC. The subjects are still at large and may be heading west.

If these men show up in your store call local police and refer to the Sault Ste Marie Police report 180000994.
