Attempt Theft by Identity Fraud

The Barrie Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect following an attempt fraud on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Police were called to a Jewelry store in the Georgian Mall, located at 501 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie, after a suspect had applied for an in-store credit card using a false identity. The employee advised the suspect his driver’s licence was fraudulent and voided the application.  The suspect then quickly lunged over the counter and grabbed the licence from the employee, and fled the store running.
