Armed Robbery St John's NFLD

A man used a hammer and what appeared to be a shotgun in  a robbery  in the Village Shopping Centre in St. John's Thursday night, November 16th 2017. It was the second armed robbery at the store in a month. 

Police say the suspect used a hammer to smash the glass jewelry cases in the store. (Royal Newfoundland Constabulary)

The RNC is warning people to never intervene during an armed robbery, after investigators learned bystanders tried to stop the suspect from fleeing. 

The suspect is described as a 5'5" tall man with a slim build. It's believed he fled in a red, four-door, older model car toward the area of Topsail Road from Columbus Drive.
