Bulletin 2017-2220

All  parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Evening of 2017-02-10 at 20:45 hrs, a male entered a jewellery retailer at 1225 St Marys Rd and requested to see some diamond engagement rings which were in a locked case. After viewing several, he chose one and provided his name and phone number for a layaway plan. Male provided a deposit of $200.00. At this time, just at closing, the male asked the employee to highlight his remaining balance on the receipt and wanted to see the ring again. At some point here, the male removed the ring from the ring box on the counter without the employee seeing and after the employee turned back from looking for a highlighter, he demanded he watch her place the ring into the safe. She complied. The male asked what time the store was open in the morning as he was going to bring his girlfriend to look at the ring. The employee provided this information and the male left the store.
