File 2130 Diamond Switch

On October 7th 2016 a male and female suspect entered W Smith & Co Fine Jewellers, Saint John NB.  The man asked to see a loose one carat diamond valued at $10,000.00.  He then asked to see another diamond and while the sales associate was distracted, he switched the $10,000.00 diamond with a cubic.  The male and female then left the store.  The incident was reported to the Saint John Police Service.  These individuals are believed to be responsible for several similar thefts across Canada.

       

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Please contact JVC and your local police if you have information on these subjects or if you have been victimized by them. Also be sure to retain any evidence such as video or the cubic that was used in the switch.
